Yaniv Chen’s Lustrano Headboard takes its cues from the polished wooden speedboats of the Italian Riviera, an age of leisurely glamour and an almost obsessive devotion to detail. A procession of mother-of-pearl inlays traces its edges, lending an almost jewel-like quality to the richly figured timber. Its restrained geometry recalls the decorative traditions of early twentieth-century cabinetmaking. Lustrano is a celebration of material and meticulousness, where the simplest gestures become the most poetic.
