In our latest FRANK conversation, we sat down with BonnieLangedijk, stylist and founder of HURS, a thoughtfully curated (and highly chic) editorial platform celebrating the stories of leading women across the globe. Bonnie shared some of her ‘carefully edited’ world, reflecting on dream desks, sentimental treasures, and Barbara Kruger’s enduring spirit.

Describe your home in one sentence. What does your home say about your values as an artist/designer/creative?

A curation of objects collected over time. I think my home reflects that I have an edited approach to life. I believe that the objects and people we surround ourselves with have an effect on how we feel and what we create.

Is there a shared thread that ties your personal collection together?

Most objects are crafted from natural materials, and I suppose most lack in color.

Most sentimental piece?

A photograph by Gregory Halpern named ZZYX. It was a gift from my partner as a reminder of someone dear to me who passed away a few years ago.

And the most surprising? Which would you consider a talking point?

Untitled (Flag), 2020 by Barbara Kruger. Aesthetically it stands out, but in terms of spirit I think it reflects much of my work with HURS.

What's the latest addition to you collection and what are you coveting now?

New York Living Rooms by Dominique Nabokov. The book is a photo essay of living rooms of notable New Yorkers. From Susan Sontag and Joan Didion to Louise Bourgeois. I'm a sucker for a desk, and this one by Charlotte Perriand is still on my mind.
